Cool video!

When I clicked play and saw that the vid was 11 minutes, I decided to open up another window while it played to see if I could find you any replacement tachometers. From what I’ve seen in part descriptions, it sounds like your tach is ‘84-’85 specific. As of right now, there are a couple of used ones on eBay, here and here .

Anyway, nice walkaround!

Exactly what I need! Thanks so much! I’ll finally be able to replace it and more when the tax refund check comes! ^_^

You know, I was just looking at your recent post about Mustang engines and noticed that one of the tabs open in your screenshot was Pelican Parts. Their price for a tach will give you a heart attack!

Oh god I don’t wanna know haha! That Pelican Parts tab is my tracking info for the set of valve cover gaskets I ordered for the 911 last week. Hopefully they’ll be here on Thursday so I can do the work on Friday!

Sweet! Do you have a torque wrench?

I’ve many socket wrenches....But not a single torque wrench. I guess that’s going on the list of new things to buy, including a second set of jack stands, and new brake pads for the car.

My brother had one of those Buick Regals that GM didn’t torque the VC gaskets properly at the factory. Oil seeped out onto the exhaust and caught fire. It was put out fairly quickly, and I put some new gaskets on, making sure to torque them correctly. He kept a fire extinguisher in the car until he felt better about it lol.

Time to go buy a torque wrench on Friday then! Best to do a good job once than have to worry about it afterwards.

Check your book for the proper specs before buying a wrench. You might need a ft-lb one, or an in-lb one. I’ve got both and you’re welcome to borrow if need be.
